Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth more than they? Amp.
We all know we are not to worry. I know I have read this scripture so many times. But each time it is about something new. The Word of God is like a rich field. Each time that we dig into it, we find something new. It has every answer to every problem we can have, if we dig deep enough.
It is with faith that we please the Lord. When we worry about anything, fear and unbelief are right around the corner. He will convict us and draw us back into His arms of faith. It is not always about our physical needs but also about our spiritual needs.
He wants our soul to be at rest. When we have worries and fears they stop us from being at rest. His rest is a very special place. There is so much peace and joy that the devil cannot touch you. That is where He wants us to be. So the devil plants lies into our mind and if we listen, the problems begin.
Hebrews 4:2 For indeed we have had the glad tidings of God proclaimed to us just as truly as they (the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them); but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (that is with the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness) by those who heard it; neither were they united in faith with (Joshua and Caleb) the ones who heard and did believe. Amp.
We all have faith. It just may not be in the power of God working His miracles for you in your life like His Word promises. If we get our thoughts off of the problems and put them on the power, wisdom and goodness of God, things will change.
As long as everything is calm all around you there is no actual need for faith. That is why the Lord brings trials in our life. He forces us into a corner where we will activate what faith we do have. That is why we are to count it all joy, because we need to learn how to put our faith in the power of God.
Job had so many terrible trials but at the end of them he repented of his words and said, “Now my spiritual eye sees You.” If you would ask Job if He could undo all the pain that he went through, I’m sure he would say no. When the Lord reveals Himself to you, you forget about the pain. There is nothing more wonderful!
Hebrews 4:11 Let us labor to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. KJV
We can rest when we know he will make all things work for our good no matter how bad things look. We can be at rest because He is always faithful and cannot lie. That should always be our focus. Then we can rest.
SUBJECT — FAITH — GEORGE MUELLER
You will never learn faith in comfortable surroundings. God gives us the promises in the quiet hour; then He steps back and waits to see how much we believe.
