PSALM 116:6-8

6. The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low and He helped and saved me.

7. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

8. For You have delivered my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Preserveth – c) to hedge about as with thorns, guard, attend to.

Rest – c) repose, peacefully, an abode, quiet, still.

Bountifully – c) benefit or requite, to ripen, to wean, bestow on, recompense, reward.

There are times of trials in our life when things are so hard that all we can do is cry out to the Lord for His help and strength. He will always supply what we need. David starts out this Psalm with “I love the Lord.” The best way to get the help we need is to always start out with praise. Being thankful and positive is not always easy but is always right.

We know the Lord does not change. He is full of love and justice at the same time. We must come to Him on His terms. It is good to be simple. That is a humble person who has nothing to bring of himself. He knows what we need and has created the perfect trial that will bring us where we need to be.

When all is well, bills paid, no one sick, everyone saved and no actual heartaches, the soul does not cry for help to the only one who can satisfy. We need the trials to make us strong, thankful and positive or we would end up being self sufficient with no need of anything.

David had more trials than most and was the beloved of God. He was the best King Israel ever had because he was prepared by the trouble the Lord constantly delivered him from. We must be founded on the Rock or when the storm comes our house will fall. (Matt.7:24-25)

These are the last days when there are many signs pointing us to the soon coming Day of the Lord. Luke 21:25-26 says that men’s hearts will fail them for fear because of the things that are coming upon the earth because the powers of the heavens will be shaken and caused to totter. Fear will be the cause of heart failure.

There are reports of the magnetic field that protects the earth is being damaged by every solar storm and CME that occurs. They say the earths core is shaking. Earthquakes and volcanoes are becoming a common thing. He is doing the shaking. He will create a new heaven and earth and do away with the old. We must be ready for that day.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief and then the heavens will vanish and pass away with a thunderous crash, and the material elements of the universe will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.

2 Peter 3:11 Since all these things are thus in the process of being dissolved, what kind of person ought you be in the meanwhile in consecrated and holy behavior. Amp.

We need to come into His rest and experience His bountiful dealings if our hearts are going to be strong in faith and not fall apart when this world falls apart. We must know in our heart why these things are happening and that it is good. He is coming back and there is nothing better.

One day we will see Him and all the trials will end and never come to mind. But we will have the strength that is left in our hearts so we will not faint in the storm and fire.

He who made heaven and earth can give us all things while we dwell below and bring us safely to His palace above. Happy are the people on whom such a blessing rests.
