Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Foundation – c) beginning
Haste – d) careless hurrying as haste makes waste
Isaiah 28 is warning of a destroying storm and overwhelming scourge that is coming. In verse 15 the Israelites are saying “it will not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge and in falsehood we have taken shelter.”
Then in verse 16 He tells them of His plan for Jesus. In Amplified it says “he who believes, trusts in, relies on and adheres to that Stone — will not be ashamed or give way or make haste (in sudden panic).”
This goes along with Psalm 91. The whole Psalm is about those who dwell in the secret place of the Almighty. He will cover you. You will not be afraid of terror by night, nor of pestilence (disease). —- IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR YOU — ONLY A SPECTATOR YOU WILL BE — INNACCESSIBLE IN THE SECRET PLACE — AS YOU WITNESS THE REWARD OF THE WICKED — BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE THE LORD YOUR REFUGE — NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL YOU.
When the Lord is your safety there is never a problem in your life that He has not foreseen and all ready taken care of. That does not mean that danger does not lurk all around. It means that He is our safe refuge in times of trouble. When the Media gives out bleak reports and stirs up a panic all across the land, how should that affect God’s people?
We as believers must be careful of what goes into our spirit. Worldly news is just that — Worldly news (not Godly news). If He is your provider that puts you into a special category. You don’t have to get in line at some store and fight the public for necessities.
We have no reason to make haste in sudden panic. If He said He will supply, then he will supply. The Israelites in Isaiah 28 had found refuge in falsehood and lies. Do you find comfort in watching the news and obeying what they say? Do you believe what they say is the truth? Then the Lord is not your refuge and you are in great danger of being swept away with the refuge of lies.
Matthew 21:42 Jesus asked them, have you never read in the Scriptures, The very Stone which the builders rejected and threw away has become the Cornerstone?
Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this Stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. KJV
If we come to Him and put all the weight of our sins upon Him, He will take all of us and melt down the dross and make us brand new in Him. But if not, He will come back, bringing His judgment on all who have rejected Him.

God says, “As you trust Me before men, I will open My storehouse of great goodness and pour it on you. I will hide you in the secret of My presence. I will not allow strife to overwhelm you.”
