Revelation 16:17-19 Then the seventh angel emptied out his bowl (or vial) into the air, and a mighty voice came out of the sanctuary of heaven from the throne (of God), saying, It is done! (It is all over, it is all accomplished, it has come!)
18. And there followed lightning flashes, loud rumblings, peals of thunder, and a tremendous earthquake; nothing like it has ever occurred since men dwelt on the earth, so severe and far reaching was that earthquake. Amp.
19. The mighty city was broken into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And God kept in mind mighty Babylon, to make her drain the cup of His furious wrath and indignation.
20. And every island fled and no mountains could be found.
DEFINITIONS
Babylon – c) confusion, to mix, fodder (feed for cattle not sheep)
God has just poured out the last of His wrath upon the earth. He is finished, but the earth is not. It will not take long for the end to come but Babylon still has to suffer His judgment. Revelation 18 is talking about Babylon. Verse 4 says to “come out from her my people, so that you may not share in her sins, neither participate in her plagues.”
What is Babylon? It is a spiritual place where Christians go when they become offended in the Lord, they lose faith, and they backslide back into the world though holding a form of religion but with no power or presence of God. They usually stay in a Church that preaches an easy compromising Gospel. But that is food for cattle and goats who will eat anything, not for God’s sheep.
They can easily get involved in some type of ministry, but all the while they have one hand in Church and one hand in the world. That is a mixture that God will not allow and always brings fear and confusion.
Ministries must be birthed by prayer and ministering to the Lord alone before He makes it happen. Man can make a lot of things happen, but it will not be anointed by the Holy Spirit and any fruit that comes will not last. If you are involved in such a ministry, He is saying to come out or you will participate in a terrible judgment.
Isaiah 24:10 The city of confusion is broken down;
19. The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
20. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; AND IT SHALL FALL, AND NOT RISE AGAIN.
This is the end. The city of confusion is Babylon and it is broken and desolate. It had great wealth but it is gone — wiped out in one single hour — Rev. 18:17. This tremendous earthquake has flattened all mountains. There are no islands. They probably have sunk into the sea.
Nothing like this has ever happened before and the experts have no answer. They will be too afraid to tell the truth of what is happening to the earth. It is over. It is the end. There is no hope for the earth. And why is this happening?
Isaiah 24:5 The earth is also defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
How? How many laws have been changed? Has it ever been right to kill an unborn child? Same sex marriage has been legal for how long? Does God make mistakes when he creates a child to be male or female that He needs us to correct Him? And I am sure there are many more.
But who has broken the Everlasting Covenant? What is the Everlasting Covenant but Jesus? He is the only way for us to be saved from our sins. Without faith and trust in Jesus we become desolate with no hope. However the sad truth is there are many who have not gotten what they wanted from Him and went their own way. HOWEVER:
Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18. But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Jerusalem – c) founded peaceful, to flow as water, to rain, to point out, to teach, direct, inform, instruct.
This is spiritual Jerusalem and I believe God’s Last Days Army whom He will raise up at the right time to shine their lights in the darkness and lead many to the Light. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to have His way in our hearts and lives so we will be free from all confusion and fear and to be in peace and at rest so He can flow as water and rain down through us His Latter Rain!
