JOHN 7-10 So Jesus said again, I assure you most solemnly I tell you, that I Myself am the Door for the sheep,
8. All others who came as such before Me are thieves and robbers; but the true sheep did not listen or obey them.
9. I am the Door. Anyone who enters in through Me will be saved—will live; he will come in and he will go out (freely), and will find pasture.
10. The thief comes only in order that he may steal, and may kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it abundance — to the full, till it overflows.
The Lord is putting an end to all other religions. He is the only way for anyone to be saved from hell and damnation. No other religion has the answer. That alone is a whole subject in itself.
All preachers that did not preach Jesus are robbers and thieves. If you say that today you are politically incorrect. There is too much compromise preached. An easy watered down Gospel is usually what you hear. That is probably the way it was in Jesus’ day.
In Mark 3 He knew the Pharisees were finding fault with Him healing on the Sabbath, so they could bring charges against Him. He knew this and yet He went before them in the synagogue and told the man with the withered hand to get up and He asked, “Is it lawful and right on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a life or take it?” No answer.
Then He looked around the room. I can see Him standing there grieved but making sure they all saw Him as He brought attention to the fact that He was going to heal this man on the Sabbath. He knew they were going to use it against Him to crucify Him. But there was no fear instead He made His point loudly for all to see and hear.
When we know Jesus is the Door and the only way, we must be bold and let everyone who knows us know where we stand. Look how many robbers and thieves stand up for what is wrong every Sunday making people believe they are safe when they are not living up to the standards of the full Gospel.
We have to be willing to speak up for the truth when no one wants to hear it no matter the cost or their blood may be on our hands. There have been times when I knew the Lord wanted me to speak up and say what was not welcomed. I knew I would lose the friendship of some whom I dearly loved. But what could I do? I spoke up and I lost them. You have to decide what is the most important thing in this life or the one to come.
There are many sheep who do not follow, listen and obey Him. Satan does come to steal, kill and destroy. But we have been given authority over Him and can take back what He has stolen.
We must walk with Jesus everyday, increasing in His power so we can have the life of abundance that He died for us to have. I have learned that He wanted me to give Him all my desires and let them die at His feet. Once they were gone and nothing mattered to me but Him, then He gave back the ones He wanted me to have.
He leads me in what is the most wonderful abundance, spiritually and physically. If you delight yourself in the Lord, He will truly give you the desires of your heart, Him being first and foremost!
SUBJECT — BOLDNESS — DAVID WILKERSON
Acts 4:8 begins with: “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit…” and this tells me it was not going to be a quiet reserved, lecture. Peter was a Jesus-possessed man, bursting with the Holy Spirit.
Likewise today, God’s true servants are to stand boldly with Gospel truth. His authority gives us boldness to preach before anyone, anywhere.
