Psalm 125:01 They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. KJV

Trust – d) firm belief in the honesty, reliability, etc. of some person or thing: faith, confident expectation, hope. To allow to do something without fear of the outcome.

Zion – c) a term for Jerusalem – the city of David – permanent capital, mountain of Jerusalem – a monumental or guiding pillar — a desert, solitary, wilderness.

Abideth – c) to dwell, to remain, to settle, to marry, continue, endure, establish

Abide – d) to live up to a promise, to submit to and carry out.

What does trust really mean? The Lord wants our trust above all things. He knows He is worthy of all our trust. Why is it that trust comes so hard for some of us? Satan knows how to send his demons to attack the precious souls who are marked spiritually for God. He knows who they are and all their weaknesses and their strengths.

He has a plan for each of us. He will attack those around us in the early years to hinder a firm foundation of trust if he can. So many come from broken homes and end up without an earthly father’s love that would instill trust in their heavenly Father. Many end up with a broken heart that gets covered up by another broken heart, and then another. That is why trust is hard for some people.

The Lord loves the broken hearted. Psalm 147 says He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds — curing their pains and their sorrows. I know because He has healed my many broken hearts, so many I lost count and am glad to lose it.

The Amplified Version defines trust as to trust in, adhere to and rely on. When you have a broken heart you tend to protect yourself. It is hard to trust if you put up walls and keep a distance from the Lord when He wants to draw near. You become very suspicious of every move afraid of rejection from the one who will never forsake us.

The Lord is so gentle and loving in all of His ways. He knows how to mend our brokenness putting us back together with unbreakable parts. I know because I used to fall apart so easy and run to food and TV for comfort. I haven’t done that in many years. I have lost count.

He wants us to be unshakable and to be as Mount Zion. His promise is to establish us to be strong for other broken hearts. He wants us to come unto Him in that solitary place or secret place where we see His beauty and glory, alone with Him. That is where He does His most beautiful work in our hearts making us firm as Mt. Zion so we can be pillars for others.

He knows the pain you feel and why you feel it. You have to put your heart in His hands in the midst of the pain and leave it there. As you submit to Him in prayer and worship, ignoring the pain, healing will come. It is a battle that is not easy.

Then one day you will think back about all those broken hearts and wonder because the pain is forever gone and you are changed. You will reflect only on the goodness and gentleness of His patient and loving ways that you will never forget. You will be unshakable because His love is the only Love that you need. You can love others without wanting anything in return because you have what you need.

The adverse winds blew against my life;

My heart was sinking ‘neath the wave

of deepening test and raging grief;

all seemed as lost, and none could save,

nothing could bring me relief —

Then He arose — and spoke one word,

“There was a calm! It is the Lord”
