MATTHEW 24:45 Who then is the faithful, thoughtful and wise servant, whom His master has put in charge of His household, to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time?
This scripture is about being ready for the Lord’s return. He goes on to tell how many are saying “My master is delayed and is going to be gone a long time.” The problem is the thinking that, “yes, the Lord is coming back but not today. I have heard this for so many years and nothing has changed. I am going to take a break. When things start to get rough, I’ll know and then I will get ready.”
I have actually heard people say this to me. The devil plays many tricks on the mind. The mind is his battleground. He has no access to our heart. It is only when we place our faith in what he says, and we take it into our heart. Then it becomes a stumbling block to us from which we will need deliverance.
We must be not just faithful but also thoughtful and wise. The 10 virgins in Matt. 25 were not all wise. Five of them were foolish:
Foolish — c) dull, stupid, heedless, blockhead, absurd
Wise — c) thoughtful, discreet, implying a cautious character
Vague — d) not clearly or precisely expressed or stated
Ephesians 5:15-17 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise — sensible, intelligent people;
16. Making the very most of the time—buying up each opportunity—because the days are evil.
17. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. Amp.
There are some things that we know for certain that the Lord wants from us. Then there are other things that we know He wants from us but for some reason at this time, we are not able to perform them. There are many areas that we must have patience with ourselves because it is a growing area and we just are not ready.
But I believe there are many areas that the Lord requires separation from the world and a much closer walk with Him. But because their is so much compromise in the Church today, many will not be ready. I know there are many things that the Lord has removed from my life and has blessed me immensely in their place.
Then I see people in Churches doing the very things He has showed me not to do. And the words that come out of their mouth reveal their lack of fellowship with Jesus. This has become too acceptable in Church and the sheep are hungry and in danger of attacks from the enemy.
The answer is in verse 45. The Lord will have a last days army who will be a faithful, thoughtful and wise servant. He will give them food for the sheep that will get them through the last days so they will be ready when he comes. I have met some of these whom I believe the Lord has chosen. They are different than all the others and their words have power that will touch many hungry souls.
These are the days of preparation for the last days. Yes the thought of them can be frightful. But it can also be wonderful. To be chosen by the Lord for His last work upon the earth is a glorious reward. Let us not let Satan steal this one, but be ready, thoughtful, sensible and wise!
