Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and forever.
Olive trees are known for the oil that comes when the olive is pressed and crushed. The oil is also a symbol of the Holy Spirit. When we face trouble and trials at times we may feel as though we have been pressed and crushed. David saw himself as a green olive tree in the house of God, not as the King of Israel or a victorious warrior, although he was all those and more. He knew to get olives, you have to have a healthy tree. It would have healthy green leaves. He knew if he was to be a healthy tree, he would have to trust and rely on the Lord for His love and mercy.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord.
8. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the water, and shall not see when the heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green he shall not be anxious and careful in the year of drought, nor shall he cease yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:5 ” Cursed (with great evil) is the strong man who trusts and relies on frail man making weak (human flesh) his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.” Amp.
Psalm 92-13 Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
In the scriptures and the definitions we see one way to be safe in the last days is to make the Lord your strength and to lean on Him for all that you need, physically and spiritually. We must learn now how to cast all our cares upon Him and rest in His Arms of Love while things are still rather calm. He is always reminding me in every situation to focus on the good He will bring out of all my trials. That is my answer.
SUBJECT — GREEN TREES — DAVID WILKERSON
As we trust wholly in the Father, with our roots in His river of health, His divine strength — luscious, green, spiritual health—flows through us. We will flourish as green trees, healthy and strong, and when the hour of trial comes we will not languish or wilt. Instead, our faith will be growing.
