HEBREWS 4:9-10 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10. For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His. KJV
Jesus says in Matthew ll:28 Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. KJV
What does it mean to enter into His rest? In Hebrews 4, He is not happy with The Israelites. He wanted to take all their problems upon Himself. They had so many fears, so many enemies, so many bad circumstances, and so much pain.
When you are a parent, you would do anything to keep your child from getting sick or getting harmed in anyway. You would gladly suffer in their place.
If we make Him our focus and take our eyes off the impossibility, knowing He will work it out for us, always for our good, then He will give us rest. If we stop trying to figure out how to fix this problem, then He will give us rest.
In Romans 9:32. it says, that they did not pursue it through faith, but on what they could do. That explains what He wants from us. We are to cease from our own works and rest. This does not mean that you stop praying or worshipping or studying His Word. It means you start to let the Holy Spirit guide and direct you. You stop letting the flesh control you. Self dies.
You start to please God more than you please yourself. This is being crucified with Christ. The arms are not yours anymore. The legs are not yours anymore. Your life is not your own. 1Cor.6:19
Then after you are crucified with Christ, you are buried for 3 days then rise from the dead. You awake in the likeness of God and enter into His rest. As you have sought the kingdom of God and His righteousness all these (other) things will be added unto you. Then all you have given to Him will come back to you. Job received twice as much as he had before.
This is the abundant life. Prayers are answered. Out of your innermost being springs and rivers of living water shall flow continuously. John 7:38
It all comes down to letting God have His way in your life. We get out of the way and let Him work. He knows how to get the job done a lot better than we do. Then we are blessed with the most heavenly peaceful rest in our normally worried and fretful self. He gives and gives and gives again. Thank You wonderful heavenly Father for your wonderful heavenly gift that we are so undeserving of.

How wealthy every believer is and how much he feels it in view of his former slavery! What songs could be sufficient to express our joy and gratitude for such a glorious deliverance and such a bountiful heritage!
More awaits us. The depth of our griefs cannot compare with the height of our happiness. Over the hills faith sees the daybreak in whose light we will enter into this abundant place.
