PSALM 8
- O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! Who hast set They glory above the heavens.
Psalm 8 is so wonderful because it tells us how wonderful the Lord revealed Himself to David. His character is majestic in all the earth. He is majesty. He is glory. We always must look up to see Him because that is where He has placed His glory. No where does there exist glory like His glory.
He made us to tell of His greatness and to honor Him. He gave us dominion over the works of His hands. He trusts us with a mighty job. Do we take the position He gave us? We must show forth His praise from day to day, keeping our eyes up high where He is. We must keep our eyes on the things we have dominion over.
When we stand before Him, will He have a long list of things in this environment that could have been avoided because we did not take dominion over the details of its destruction. His creation is important to Him, and we have dominion. What are we doing to protect His creatures?
He has put all things under our feet not to crush them but to protect and preserve them. I think we will be surprised at what He desires from each of us. We live in a fallen state because of sin. I wonder what it would have been like if Adam and Eve had not sinned. We would be living a different way today. Let us pay attention to the beauty we have been given. And let us walk in the dominion He gave us.
Psalm 8:5-6 For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and majesty.
6. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.
