PSALM 91 -THE MESSAGE BIBLE
You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, Say this: “God, You’re my refuge. I trust in You and I’m safe!”
That’s right – He rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge, outstretched arms protect you – under them you’re perfectly safe; His arms fend off all harm. Fear nothing – not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day. Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you. You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God is your refuge, the High God your very own home, Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door. He ordered His angels to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among the lions and the snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
“If you hold onto Me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you only get to know and trust Me. Call Me and I’ll answer, be at your side in the bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you long life, give to you a long drink of salvation!” MSG
I am writing this because of my friend Tam’s Blog. It was too much to put into a comment. I had a lot to tell.
About 2 years or so ago I was hearing gun shots outside of my house. They at times sounded like they were on my patio. I live in a condo, and it is a good neighborhood. I have been here since 1978 when Gary and I first were married. I had never heard gunshots in all the years, only fireworks on the 4th of July and maybe New Year’s Eve.
One night they were disturbingly loud. The next morning, I went downstairs to find my glass door had been shattered by a bullet. I found the casing. I have never seen so much broken glass. I had not had my computer that long at the time. I do not have a phone but tried to contact a company to fix it by email. I prayed about it and bound Satan that no one could come through it.
But it never would work out and I knew the Lord was saying No and to wait on Him. I put a heavy piece of cardboard there, which worked surprisingly well for the long time it remained broken.
I talk about enduring the trials the Lord sends all the time on my blog. But I don’ think many know the depth the Lord wants us to go with Him. I learned more from the months My glass door was broken than about anything I have endured.
I had to live knowing someone actually shot out my door and could return. What did I do? I made it my habit to pray and bind Satan about it every day. I never called the Police. I do not own a weapon. But the weapons I use are mightier than any earthly weapon and I had to learn just how mighty they are.
I was still hearing gunshots. Satan did his best to intimidate me. I live alone. Jesus is my only protection. And He proved beyond a doubt to me than He is more than enough. At that time, I was listening to Phil Driscoll singing Psalm 91 from the Message Bible. The part that stood out the clearest to me was “Harm can’t get through the door.”
It was broken all summer long and harm never came through the door. The gunshots got less and less frequent. Now they are almost non-existent. And what have I learned?
I know I am perfectly safe. I need no physical weapon because I have the best protection there is. I am so thankful the Lord let me go through one of the hardest trials I can think of. It changed my way of thinking and gave me the faith He wanted me to have.
I believe the last days will get rough in every way. But I can trust the Words in Psalm 91. They are real to me.

Now that’s a real-world trial. The neighborhoods are changing, because the people are changing. And these people were not raised up and rooted in God’s Word! Psalm 91 is my absolute favorite (spiritual) weapon. We have to have our spiritual weapons ready, because one thing for sure, satan is coming to bully and intimidate the saints, hoping will we retreat in cowardice, and in fear, But His Word goes forth from our mouths, and backs satan down, and It encourages us to stand and fight one more day, until He comes. I love your testimony, Wenda💕💕💕 Thank you😉
Yes, it is changing for the worse. We must learn now to believe that we are safe. It will be harder to believe when things get worse! Thank you, Tam! 🥰🎶💖
