REVELATION 14:1
- Then I looked and lo, the Lamb stood on Mt. Zion, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand men who had His name and His Father’s name inscribed on their forwards. Amp.
What is inscribed on their foreheads? I believe it is more than letters. The meaning of the Greek word “name” is character. Many times in the Word we are told to put on Jesus or behavior that is like Jesus. As we follow Him and spend time in His presence we are changed or transformed into His likeness.
We are changed also by the trials we endure. They produce patient endurance which develops maturity of character, Romans 5:3-4. We must learn the right way to endure trials. If we murmur and cry the blues we are not maturing.
We must learn to be content in our afflictions knowing it will end well for us. We must always be thankful in the hard times seeing the good. We must always do our best to imitate Jesus. This is the way to victory. Negativity and complaining will get you stuck until you get it right.
We must learn to sing in our afflictions. The 144,000 had to learn to sing a new song. We all need a fresh new sound coming up out of our heart in the hard times. It makes the trouble fade away as we arise out of this world into the heavenly realm. This is where we are safe.
These are the spotless overcomers who are before the throne of God. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes.
Luke 21:36 Keep awake then and watch at all times; praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of man. Amp.
I will add the songs at a later date due to technical difficulties.
