PSALM 128:1-2

  1. Blessed – happy, fortunate (to be envied) – is everyone who fears, reveres and worships the Lord: who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments.
  2. For you shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; happy, blessed, fortunate (enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you. Amp.

The scripture lists ways to blessedness. They are:

  • Fears the Lord
  • Worships the Lord
  • Reveres the Lord
  • Walks in His Ways
  • Lives according to His Commandments

We must fear the Lord meaning we fear offending Him and desire to please Him above all else. We believe that to disobey His commands is the way to a terrible life. That we have learned from the scriptures what happened to Israel when they disobeyed, and we will do everything to avoid that. We believe that disobedience only hurts ourselves and the ones we love.

When we Worship the Lord, we are showing how much we love Him. We give Him the best of our lives and put Him first in all we do. We give Him time worshipping Him with songs learning to be thankful in His Presence all day long.

When we revere the Lord, we are to have a deep respect for Him in our attitude. We must live our lives with a knowing that He is watching and listening to all we say and do. We are aware of our sin nature and are constantly learning new ways to honor Him. We want to be pleasing to Him and show Him with our actions.

When we walk in His ways, we are giving Him our day. Our footsteps must go only where He guides. We must pray about all we do and ask so many questions learning His voice and guidance in our life.

The end result will be a truly happy life filled with His peace and presence. In other words we have more of Him in all we do. He wants to be involved in every part of our day so He can bless it with good.

The true fruit is to be One with Jesus and enjoy Him. Nothing Better Than That!
