PSALM 40:3

3. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear — revere, and worship — and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

New -c) fresh; to rebuild, renew, repair.

Fresh -d) recently made, bright, clean, preserved, healthy, not known before.

Repair -d) to put back into good condition after damage, decay, etc.

What is the new song? It is a song that comes from above. The Lord puts it into our hearts. It changes us and repairs damage that has been done to us whether because of persecution or fighting the Lord’s battles. We get worn and tired from battle fatigue at times and need renewing.

If we sing the Lord’s songs it will be strong and bring His presence. We must come with thanksgiving and praise. The Lord is so very concerned with our temperament. He wants us to be happy. The songs we sing are so important. They must be energetic and lively to lift us into the heavenly realm. That is where He wants us and that is where we are safe.

Our thinking is so important. It can keep us unthankful. If He promises all things will work for our good, then we are to believe it. It is when we put more faith in what the devil says than in what the Lord says that we get into trouble. We must trust Him to make our life one of happiness and victory.

In Revelation 14:1-3 it talks about the noise on Mount Zion of music that sounds like great waters and rumbling of mighty thunder, and they sing a new song that they had to learn. It is easy to sing when all is well. But sometimes the Lord allows hard times to teach us to fight through.

It is in these times that we have to search our hearts and see what we have to be truly thankful for. As we press in the darkness will leave and joy will return. Faith will grow as we see the Lord helping us on. We become renewed, repaired and rebuilt.

That is when others see, and it causes them to put their trust in the Lord like the scripture says. The new song has power and will lift you out of the darkness of this world into the Light of His love. That is where He wants us to live. Without a new song we will not be ready when He comes.

  1. This is beautiful and uplifting Wenda. Worship and praise are such powerful weapons, both to offer our praise and thanksgiving to God and as a ministry to God and to is. It is the most intimate expression between God and man. Bless you and have a great week. πŸ™πŸΎβ€οΈ

  2. Great word of confirmation for me.
I like it when we flow together in the spirit.
Indeed it’s not easy to sing when things are going south.
It seems in that situation singing is an antidote to barrenness.

    Isaiah 54:1
[1]β€œSing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord.

We need to sing even in our barrenness.
Worship is a powerful tool of warfare and it creates an environment suitable for miracles to occur.

  3. Acts 16:25 β€œAnd at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.”
Paul, and Silas had been beaten and thrown into prison for delivering a woman from an evil spirit. Did it stop them from worshiping God? No, it was fuel for their fire.
Often we get down because of personal choices, but when we serve God, he will put a song in our hearts that make their way to our mouths.
