PSALM 61:3-4

3. For you have been a shelter and a refuge for me, a strong tower against the adversary.

4. I will dwell in your tabernacle forever; let me find refuge and trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah (pause and calmly think of that)! Amp.

There are times for each of us that trouble comes, and we find ourselves at a loss for answers. We are to run to the rock of our salvation for shelter. He is always available no matter the time, day or night, He is there. He knows tomorrow and is not caught off guard as we are. And He always has a plan for our deliverance.

The problem is always with us. We sometimes go to Him as a last resort and waste precious time. He should always be our first stop. Then we will find rest for our souls in the midst of the battle. We must learn to wait upon Him. We want answers right now. But He adjusts us to His schedule.

When He sends the answer, many times it is after a long waiting period. I have noticed when I am waiting for answers I am praying longer for the solution. It is during this prayer time that I give up control of this problem and come into His rest before the answer comes.

All I saw was the trouble. But He saw the deep need inside of me that He longed to perfect. At the end of the trial, He would open my eyes and bring me the understanding for the trial, and I felt very blessed.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s own handiwork, (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us taking paths which He prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them – living the good life which He prearranged and ready for us to live. Amp.

We must always see His goodness in the trials we are sent. They are always sent in love and are meant for our perfection leading us to the good life that He has prepared for us. So many times, those paths are filled with pain and tears. They are pain and tears of deliverance leading us to be more like Him and the divine nature He has placed within us.

There is always a blessed afterward after the trial. A new time of refreshing and healing and newness for us if we have the right attitude. We must stay positive and thankful that He has chosen us for such special treatment.

If we complain and murmur about our rough treatment, then we may get stuck in that same trial and wilderness just as the Israelites were stuck in their wilderness. We are to trust the Lord for His goodness always!
