PSALM 68:8-10
8. The earth trembled, the heavens also poured down rain at the presence of God; yonder Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9. You, O God, did send a plentiful rain, You did restore and confirm Your heritage when it languished and was weary.
10. Your flock found a dwelling place in it; You, O God, in Your goodness did provide for the poor and needy. Amp.
In this scripture we find the Lord’s presence causing the mountains to quake and the heavens to pour down rain. This is physical Israel. There is a spiritual Israel, also. We have many different teachings that pertain to the physical and the spiritual, such as a spiritual temple, circumcision, death, rapture, cross, fire, Jerusalem, storms and rain.
We know we expect the Holy Spirit to pour out His Spirit in the last days. We do not expect it to rain like it did on Noah. We must prepare for the outpouring. Just what are we to look for? The Holy Spirit is going to restore. He will set His people free from things that stop them from being fruitful and victorious. He will send deliverance and remove hindrances to holiness.
This outpouring is a call to holiness. He will clean house and set His people upon their feet and restore them in His presence giving them the needed strength to serve Him like never before. No more of man’s ideas. No more dead works. No more self-will. No more deadness. No more fleshly programs without the Holy Spirit.
The Lord knows how to deal with His own. He is coming like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He will refine them that they make offerings of righteousness and then it will be pleasing to the Lord. Zechariah 3:1-4.
