The wilderness will become transformed into a beautiful garden of the Lord. What is the wilderness to the Lord? It is the place where we go to be refined. It is the place we go to seek the Lord before He uses us. It is a time of crucifixion and dying to self. It is a time of drawing near to the Lord and learning His voice, His mercy, goodness and love. It is a wonderful place.
It says it is a solitary place. But it is not solitary or lonely because the Lord is there. When you are with Him, you do not need anyone else. He always has a perfect plan for us. What could be better than to be transformed into a life of abundance of magnificence?
This is speaking of the last days because they shall see the glory of the Lord and the excellency of our God. Isaiah 40:5 says, the glory of the Lord shall be revealed. How will He reveal His glory?
The Hebrew meaning of the word glory is copiousness which means abundance. When he reveals His glory, He reveals all that He is. He is more than abundantly supplied of His power, His greatness, His mercy and love. All of His attributes will be revealed in a majestic way that will exalt Him High above all else. We can only speculate because we have such a limited vision of all that He is. But soon we will see and then we will know How great and majestic He really is.
We are to prepare the way of the Lord and make straight in the desert a highway for our God. We are to lift our voice with strength and be not afraid to say, “Behold your God.” Verses 40:3,9.
How can we prepare the way for Him? Isaiah 35:8 and a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.
It shall be a wonderful time for all of God’s people who have answered His call and allowed the Holy Spirit to refine them. There He will reveal Himself to His own.
11 Corinthians 4:6 For God, Who commanded the Light to shine out of darkness, hath shined into our hearts, to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. KJV.
He is speaking of our worship. When we sing about the goodness of the Lord, we must set our minds to focus on Him. We must place our thoughts on Him sitting on His throne, high and lifted up, inhabiting our praises. We must stop thinking about supper, family and problems.
Satan will continually try to steal your worship with invading thoughts. We have to learn how to resist them and fix our spiritual eyes upon the Lord. As we do this, He becomes clearer and clearer. He has commanded to give us this Light and have knowledge of His glory as we look upon His face.
This is enough to make you flourish and grow abundantly. To see Jesus in all of His glory is what the last days means to me. As the days draw nearer and nearer, He makes Himself known more and more. It makes the desert to blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing!
I love that promise from Isaiah.
If we understand it we will have renewed strength to march on

Yes, and He is revealing Himself clearer every day! I keep saying, He gets better and better, but it is because He gets clearer and clearer. That truly gives me strength!
