ISAIAH 62:4
4. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. KJV.
DEFINITIONS
Forsaken -c) to loosen, relinquish, leave destitute.
Hephzibah -c) (a symbolic name for Jerusalem), My delight is in her, a valuable thing.
Beulah -c) (a name of restored Israel) to marry, be master over.
Isaiah 62:12 And they shall call them, the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called Sought out, A city not Forsaken,
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband.
He is talking about spiritual Jerusalem. He has been with His holy remnant in the refiner’s fire. He has been with them in all of their trials and afflictions. He has cleansed them and wiped away every stain. They have been through the persecution where they have been forsaken and hated (Is. 60:15). But now that is complete.
He is calling her Beulah and Hephzibah. These are the overcomers. They have gotten the victory over the beast, his image, his mark and the number of his name. (Rev. 15:2)
They have come out of the great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. They are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple. Rev.7:14-15
They follow the Lamb wherever He goes for they are blameless-spotless-without blemish before the throne of God. Rev. 14:4-5
Rev. 3:12 He who overcomes (is victorious), I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name. Amp.
There will be those who come and go but nothing unclean will ever enter it, but only those who have their names recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life. It is the overcomers who stay and never leave. They are blessed to be beside the Lord forever like a wife beside her Husband.
Revelation 22:17 and the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the Water of Life freely.
