MICAH 5:4
And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God, and they shall dwell secure, for then shall He be great even to the ends of the earth.
This is speaking of the Lord in His Millennial Reign. He will be the Lord of All and will be worshipped. His people will dwell securely and live without fear. Does this mean that we must wait until He comes back before we can be fearless? No, I believe He wants us to overcome all the powers of the enemy. One of His biggest weapons is fear. So, how do we defeat fear?
First you have to treat fear as a sin and something you can resist. Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. KJV
So many today treat fear and anxiety as a condition or emotional illness instead of the sin of unbelief. This is also the case with depression. Depression is a lack of joy due to sadness. The answer is one that the world does not have. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. Praise and Worship will lift you out of the dumps everyday if you let it! It is a wonderful gift we have.
He puts the fearful with the other very bad sins. Fear is believing what Satan says more than what God says. The main thing we need to be pleasing to Him is Faith. So, when there is fear, there is the absence of faith.
Philippians 4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God. Amp.
We must admit to ourselves our inability to overcome fear on our own and take our problem to God and with thanksgiving and leave it there with Him.
Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 121:7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.
Here are two promises we have in the Word of God. We must take them and use them as the gift He intended for them to be. We must take them to Him in prayer and tell Him about our fear problem and that we know it is wrong but right now we do not seem to be able to resist this without His help. We tell Him respectfully that you promised in Psalm 34:4 and 121:7 and you cannot lie, so thank you Lord, do as Thou hath said.
Then if we get up from our conversation with the Lord no more fearful, anxious or sad then we know faith has been exercised. If not we must keep asking until it is.
Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.
Psalm 32:7 Thou art my Hiding Place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
After prayer is the time to worship the Lord. He will send the songs that will lift you from the pains and trials of this life. We just must give Him the opportunity. Your answer awaits you in a song.
