19. For while your loyalty and obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you. I would have you well-versed and wise as to what is good, and innocent and guileless as to what is evil.
20. And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, be with you. Amp.
We are all in a battle with the prince of darkness and his demons. It does not matter if you believe it or not. The truth is they have their orders and assignments. They attach themselves to your life and to your family before you were ever born. He knows our strengths and our weaknesses. He knows how to push our buttons. He knows how to use others that are around us to upset us.
John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. KJV.
Luke 10:19 Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
We have been given power over the enemy, but we must learn to use this power. We have to learn how they work. We have to use the authority we have been given to stop him in his tracks. How do we accomplish this?
Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. KJV.
When we first make Jesus the Lord of our life, our house is clean. It is up to us to keep it clean and filled with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. If we do not obey the Lord and feed upon His good treasure, we will not be able to defeat the enemy. He always returns to see if we are holy enough to keep him out.
If we feed on the worldliness of this age, we will not stand. But if we pick up our cross and daily die to the fleshly temptations that are all around, we will grow gradually stronger and stronger. We will learn new lessons every day. Victories will start out small and grow in our own life so we can fight battles for new believers who are just beginning.
We must spend time covering situations in the blood of Jesus and telling Satan to take his hands off. We do this over and over until the Lord says to stop. I am still waiting for Him to say stop in many areas. He has said it before, so I know it is possible.
Eventually He will crush Satan underneath our feet, when we have learned all of the lessons, He has for us. He wants us to be Satan proof. He wants us to discern all that is evil and not be tricked ever again by his lies. What a day that will be!
