ZEPHANIAH 3:16-17 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17. The Lord thy god in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing. KJV
The Lord delights in saving His people. But he is holy and just and is perfect in all His ways. He will not forgive the guilty without repentance. Zephaniah 3 is about His judgment on the Israel and the nations who would not receive correction, trust or draw near to the Lord. vs.2
He brought judgment and made their towers desolate, but they became more corrupt. On 9/11 when the Twin Towers fell, how did the US respond? Was there a mournful repentant cry asking for forgiveness for making the murder of the unborn legal? Was there a mournful repentant cry asking for forgiveness for taking prayer out of our schools? Was there a mournful repentant cry asking for forgiveness for taking down the 10 Commandments from the Courtrooms?
No there was not. It was more of a “How could this happen in the great USA,” cry. Very few preachers spoke out against the sin of the US and were then, badmouthed by the media. You can only reject God’s ways and His laws for so long. He is waiting for repentance even today. Have things became more corrupt? What abominations have they passed since 9/11?
I am sure there are more than I know. They have made same sex marriage legal. They give transgenders the right to enter any bathroom they choose in the schools, I believe. (Am I right about that one?) Are we not shaking our fist at the creator and telling Him that He made a mistake? Not to mention the leaders committing what would have been considered “Acts of Treason” back in George Washington’s day.
When you have unrepented of sin you, leave yourself open for the attacks of the enemy. You can bind the spirits all day, but they don’t have to stop. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at–scorned, disdained or mocked by mere pretentions or His precepts being set aside. He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God. For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. Amp.
Zephaniah 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon Me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the Kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.
Over and over in the scriptures it prophesies about fire in the last days. I keep telling about the Solar Storms and the dangerous particles coming to earth from the sun. It is increasing. The earthquake and volcanic activity has been on the rise for years. The latest report has been of a comet with 4 erupting volcanoes. It seems the threat of fire is coming at us from all directions.
There is always a promise in the midst of Judgment. Verse 12, I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. These are who He will rejoice over with joy. In any day of judgment, there is always a small believing remnant the Lord saves for Himself.
We must come to Him daily, pouring our heart out to Him. Repentance must be something we practice everyday. Our hearts can deceive us. But as we come to Him, He will reveal what we need to know so we can be without spot or stain. Only He can do that for us. We just have to give Him the opportunity. He just wants us to be honest with Him. We must remember, He will not allow His precepts to be set aside.
There will be an outpouring in the Last Days greater than any before. I keep saying, we are very blessed to be living in these days. They are wonderful days. And they are terrible days.
But let us remember, “He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing!”
11 Peter 3:14 so, beloved since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him (at His coming) without spot or blemish, and at peace — in confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts. Amp.
