ZECHARIAH 9:8 Then I will encamp about My house as a guard or a garrison, so that none shall march back and forth; and no oppressor or demanding collector shall over-run them, for now My eyes are upon them. Amp.

John 14:23 If a person really loves Me, he will keep My Word — obey My teaching; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode or special dwelling place) with him. Amp.

If we want safety in these last days here is the key for us. Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life no one comes to the Father but by Him. We must come and learn of Him and His ways, then as we obey them we can count on Him and the Father coming to dwell within our heart. How can such a beautiful blessing occur? We are still bound up in many areas but He comes to dwell anyway if we do our best to obey.

When does He say that yes we have obeyed Him enough to come and live? When we first believe that Jesus died for our sins and is the only sacrifice that will save and rescue us from our sins and that He alone paid the price for our salvation, then He comes into our heart. We are still young and have so much to learn. I can only go by my life and when I noticed a difference.

Zechariah 9:8 was a very important scripture to me. My life changed when my husband of 24 years, Gary died suddenly of a heart attack. We got saved together shortly after we were married. I had to be the head and make decisions that he always made. I knew the Lord was in control and would take care of me. But it took awhile for me to adjust.

Satan did not have any mercy upon my situation but attacked me it seemed, on every side. I had been lucky enough to quit my job and stay home with the kids as I learned to be the intercessor Jesus wanted me to be. There was always enough money so that I never have had to go back to work. My work has always been to serve the Lord. And have been so blessed to serve Him!

The attacks came at me to interrupt my prayer and praise and worship time. So many knocks at the door. At first I answered the door. But they would come back again and again for no good reason. The Lord told me not to let them do that anymore. I had threats, lawsuits, etc. You name it, they knocked on my door — always when I was praying or worshipping.

My job was to resist the devil and he would flee. Sometimes they banged so hard I would shake all over. But I knew if I would just wait they would leave. No one would ever come at a time when I was available. I knew if Gary was still alive this would not be happening.

James 1:27 says to help care for orphans and widows in their affliction. I never knew that Satan attacks widows like he did me. I have so much compassion for widows. Only a few knew what I was going through. It lasted for at least a year.

Then the Lord gave me Zechariah 9:8, one of my most favorite scriptures. I had to resist many things in my life. I chose to be separate. I never wanted to remarry or date. I wanted so badly for Jesus to be my husband. There was no room for anyone else, only Jesus. That is when I believe He came to dwell.

Things changed and He made it work for my good and now no oppressor can bother me. All is quiet and peaceful. I still have very hard trials at times but I know I am safe. No harm can come through my door!

There is coming a time of testing upon the earth that Rev. 3:10 says is coming. If we endure the tests and trials now we will escape them later. I could have answered the door and obeyed the opposition. If they could have had their way they would have left me alone a lot sooner.

You must make the choice now what is the most important thing to you. If you want a false, temporary peace, Satan will provide it for you. But the Lord will not come and dwell with you. I know I have forgotten those hard days and am so thankful for Zechariah 9:8.

For now His eyes are upon me!
