PSALM 119:10-11 With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy commandments.
11. Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee. KJV
Psalm 119 is the longest of the Psalms having 176 verses. These two may be the most important of all. We all have a free will to make our own choices and decide just what we want out of life. There are so many roads to take. It is up to us to choose life when we are at our wit’s end. The Lord does not want robots to be His worshippers.
We would not want love from an unwilling heart. He wants love from willing hearts to serve Him because they know How wonderful He is. To be His servant is better than all the wealth this world has. But how many truly believe that? How do we learn of His goodness and love?
He has written to each one of us a love letter and placed it inside of His Son. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Holy Bible is that love letter.
He began with the Word that was Jesus, His Son. He knew each and every one of us at that moment. He knew we would need a Savior while He was in the midst of creation. He planned the path of each one of His children and gave them a book of His Love that would lead them to Him.
He never forces us to come but has been known to draw us unto Himself with cords of His gentle love. Once you taste of His irresistible gentleness, you are never the same. It is like He puts a path of love chips along our rocky road hoping we will pick them up and learn just what it is that we are looking for, not knowing all the while it is Him.
His Word is our lifeline that keeps us afloat on the angry sea of humanity. No matter what the problem may be, we can always find answers and comfort within the it’s beautiful pages. There is no other book in this world that has life’s answers.
We must take that love letter and place it in our hearts. If we do not read it, it will not be of much help to us. It is not only a book to read, but life that comes into our souls as we read. It is the Word of God that created all things, so there is power in every word that goes into us as we read.
That truly gives us the life changing power that we need to keep His commandments and serve Him. If we do not put it in our heart we will suffer and lose our way. It is up to each of us to pick up our own love letter and send a response to Our Maker thanking Him for making a way for such as we are.
No cure for sin in the life is equal to the Word in the heart. There is no hiding from sin unless we hide the truth in our souls. When the Word is hidden in the heart the life will be hidden from sin.
