PSALM 91:14-16

14. Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him, I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name (has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love and kindness; trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no never).

15. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; and I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation. AMP.

The definition of the Hebrew word for name is character. The Lord wants us to not just know His name which is wonderful in all of it’s meanings but, He wants us to know Him and how wonderful He is. Getting to know Him is based on the beginning verses. You must dwell or live in the secret place with the Most High and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge.

In John 14:23 He says that if anyone really loves Me, he will obey My Word, and keep My teaching, the Father and I will come and dwell with him. He wants to dwell with us and be a very present part of our life. We have a spot in our heart that only He can fill. How wonderful it is when He fills it.

When he sets us free from our sins and gives us new life, it is the same as when the Israelites left Egypt. They had to go through a time of testing in the wilderness and then only Joshua, Caleb and their children made it to the promise land because they failed to learn trust.

When we go to the world for help, looking for a quick fix instead of waiting upon the Lord and enduring the trials He sends, it is the same as going to Egypt for help. That is like a woman married for the second time going to her first husband for help. The knew husband would not like it.

He reveals His character by the way he delivers us in our trials. Then communion becomes sweeter and sweeter as He protects us from all harm in the secret place of His heart.
