ISAIAH 25:1

  1. O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You; I will praise Your name; for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old and fulfilled in faithfulness and truth. Amp.

This chapter is after 24 which is full of the final destruction of the earth. Now the prophet is saying that what was destroyed will never be rebuilt. The city of aliens meaning the sinners that broke the everlasting covenant are gone. He has been a stronghold and a shelter from the storm to the poor and needy. He has brought down the ruthless ones.

And now on Mount Zion He shall make a feast of rich things. It sounds like the marriage supper of the Lamb. It does not say. We can only guess because it is that time. But it sounds like a very sad time because of the tragic ending of life. He inaugurates His reign on the earth after the background of gloom, judgment and terror with a feast well refined (vs. 6-7).

He swallows up death and abolishes it forever, wiping away tears from off all faces. This sounds like the end that we have heard and been waiting for. Exactly what verse 9 says!

ISAIAH 25:9 It shall be said in that day, Behold our God upon Whom we have waited and hoped that He might save us! This is the Lord; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

This narrative of the last days does not sound like the Lord raptured His people away from the earth before its destruction. It states that His people who are Mount Zion will witness the end. When He comes, He has to destroy the covering of the face that is cast over the head of all people in mourning, and the profound wretchedness that is woven and spread over all nations. Vs. 7

This is showing us how hard it will be. If we do not take this seriously and spend our time with the Lord now, learning to receive the needed strength and power to endure what is coming it will be too difficult to endure such tragedy.

We must learn to focus on the good by being alone and beholding our God!

That is the only way. He is our strength and only hope!
