PSALM 25
- Unto You, O Lord, do I bring my life.
- O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on and am confident in You; let me not be put to shame or my hope in You be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me. Amp. C.
Here we have David praying. We must remember the day he is living in. He has not gone to church last Sunday and heard an altar call to pray the sinner’s prayer and give his life to the Lord. But here he is bringing his life to the Lord.
How did David know to give his life to the Lord? I am sure he heard stories about Jehovah growing up. But I believe he was moved by the life he lived. He was tending the sheep as a shepherd. He needed help to know how to lead and care for the sheep. I believe that is where he learned.
Then of course we have him running away from Saul and sleeping in caves. Here he is asking God to not let his enemy’s triumph over him. Have you ever prayed that way? I know I haven’t.
He is praying out of necessity. He needs to know how the Lord works and I believe the Lord gave him specific trials to teach him His ways. I know I would not want someone chasing me trying to kill me. I would not want to sleep or live in a cave. But David gave Him his life.
The Lord causes all things to work for David’s good. He learns His ways thus learning to be the best King of Israel.

Amen 🙌 David’s trust in God reminds us that faith grows through trials. Just like him, we can bring our lives fully to the Lord and trust that He’s working all things for our good. God is faithful through every cave and every victory.
Yes, God is faithful through every cave and victory. Good point, Willie!
