PSALM 20

  1. The Lord answer you in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob set you up on high and defend you:
  2. Send you help from the sanctuary, and support, refresh and strengthen you from Zion.

What is the key here in Psalm 20? Again, we have a prayer of David. He is blessed above all comprehension. We see him receiving all we need and desire. How do we adjust ourselves to the right attitude so we can be like David?

When we are in the pit of trials that seem to never end, how do we continue in thankfulness inside without complaining of our lot? There is only one way I know.

The answer is always close communion with our precious Jesus. We must learn to keep our eyes on Him throughout every weakness, every lie, every persecution, every failure and every struggle. We must believe that no matter how weak we look to ourselves that He sees the good in all we do no matter what we see.

If our eyes are on Him, His love will see us through. And what a glorious ride it will be. He makes the darkest day brighter than all sunshine.

  1. This reflection carries such deep comfort. I love how you drew from Psalm 20 to remind us that divine help isn’t distant—it flows from communion with Christ. Your words turn trials into sacred spaces where trust and love grow stronger.

The image of “the darkest day brighter than all sunshine” stays with me. It beautifully captures how faith transforms despair into radiance. Thank you for writing something that both steadies and uplifts the soul.
