ISAIAH 55
- Wait and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy priceless spiritual wine and milk without money and without price simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing.
- Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread? And your earnings for what does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness (the profuseness of spiritual joy).
- Incline your ear submit and consent to the Divine will and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with you, even the sure mercies – kindness, good will and compassion – promised to David. Amp. C.
DEFINITIONS
Fatness -c) Abundance; ashes of sacrifice.
The Lord is telling us to come to Him and receive all He has and is for us. He is saying you cannot buy such a privilege. The price is sacrifice. He paid the highest price so we could come and receive the highest blessing. Now it is our turn to pay the highest price we can give to Him to receive His abundance and spiritual joy and blessing.
It comes with a sacrifice on our part which is our reasonable service. Many do not even know they are called to abundance. Even though Jesus said He came to give life and give it abundantly. That is spiritual fatness.
Many in the world think the Lord wants to take everything good away from them. And the opposite is true. His will for us is above all we can ever ask or think. His ways are so far above ours. He has a plan for each one of us and the only reason we reject something that wonderful is because we cannot fathom anything that great.
When we walk with the Lord following His ways giving Him the sacrifice He requires, we see it as no sacrifice. He is so wonderful. To be near to Him is far more valuable than what we could ever give to Him.
The only reason anyone holds onto their own will and way is because they do not know Him. If they knew what great joy awaits, they would run to Him without delay.
