ISAIAH 60
12. For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you in that day (Jerusalem) shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly laid waste. Amp. C.
DEFINITIONS
Accord -c) unanimously – with one accord (mind).
Serve -c) work.
Do you have those in your midst who seem to work against you? They never agree with you but hang onto their error.
This does not mean those who are learning and changing and growing. These may say they agree with you but never act upon it. Instead, they are actually trying to stop you from doing certain important things that matter.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were with one accord in one place. KJV
The Holy Spirit could fall upon them because they were in one accord or in agreement unanimously with each other. There were no disagreements. The Holy Spirit had done a work in each of them. Now they were ready for the next step. They could not have moved on to the next step if there were error in their midst.
1 John 4:6 We are children of God. Whoever is learning to know God – progressively to perceive, recognize and understand God (by observation and experience) and to get an ever-clearer knowledge of Him – listens to us; and he who is not of God does not listen or pay attention to us. By this know (recognize) the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error. Amp. C.
There is a lot of false teaching in the church in these last days. We must be very careful who we listen to. A spirit of error can creep in undetected and do great harm. Sometimes you have to look at the people around you and reflect on their actions. Do they receive you when you speak the truth or not?
You must give them time to receive it and change. But eventually if there is no sign of a change you must move on. A spirit of error can do great harm and must be dealt with. Sometimes the only way is to turn away.
You cannot be in one accord with a spirit of error if you want the Holy Spirit to be poured out in your midst.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Amp. C.
I believe when the Holy Spirit is allowed to have full control in someone’s life, they will have the ability to speak in other tongues. Why did it happen in the upper room?
