PSALM 72

7. In His (Christ’s) days shall the uncompromisingly righteous flourish, and peace abound till there be a moon no longer.

8. He (Christ) shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

This Psalm is a prayer of David praying for Solomon. But then it takes on the obvious characteristics of Jesus and His latter-day glory. It is so beautiful in its depth discoveries of how the poor and needy are cared for.

It speaks in verse 15 of how those will still pray and bless and praise Him all the day long. There will be no persecution. No hatred. No assassinations. Goodness will reign supreme.

Just imagine your main focus for the day to be to praise Jesus. Can you imagine the depth of His presence and how good you would feel throughout! There will be no oppression, fraud or violence. He will help him who has no helper. What a change that will be.

All nations will serve Him. There will be abundance in unfruitful places. All will bow the knee and serve Him. He will judge and defend and bring peace to the people. He will defend and deliver and crush the oppressor.

His Name shall endure forever and ever!

18. Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel Who alone does wondrous things.
