MALACHI 3
10. Bring all the tithes – the whole tenth of your income — into the storehouse that there may be food in My house and prove Me now by it says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11. And I will rebuke the devourer (insects and plagues) for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts.
12. And all nations shall call you happy and blessed; for you shall be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts. Amp. C.
This is such a beautiful promise that we have been given. He was trying to show the Israelites the easy way. If we just obey Him and believe our life would be so much easier. The promise far outweighs the sacrifice. They had to give the first fruits to the Lord. They had to fill up the Lord’s storehouse.
Now we have an obligation also to give a tenth of our income to the Lord. We cannot see the Lord’s storehouse that is spiritually before us. But if we keep giving what we are supposed to give we know it will be full. And if it is full we will be blessed. That is what keeps our spiritual land fed. His house must be full for our land to be blessed. He will rebuke the devourer, and our fruit will not fail.
We must remember His storehouse must be full so there is food in His house. This country has not kept His storehouse full and now we see the fruits of it. So many are starving for the Truth. They seem to be feeding on a toxic Gospel that is fueled with strife.
Verse 3 says that He will purify the priests and refine them that they may offer the Lord offerings in righteousness. This is saying that our offering is not only monetary but comes from our life and how we live. He comes as a refiner’s fire to purify our offering. We can expect trials, and this means if we are living in compromise or disobedience, it does not matter how much money we give. His storehouse will be empty because of our sin.
If His storehouse is empty, the people in the land will not be fed spiritually and the country will deteriorate. If we withhold our tithe and offerings, we are robbing God. The fruits of our life and our income already belong to Him. He is always testing His people.
However, if we do give Him all the tithes and offerings He requires, our life will become fruitful to the point where we will not have enough room to receive all the blessings He sends. The blessing far outweighs the sacrifice.
There will be those in the last days that have given what He requires, and all will see the blessings poured upon them! Many will be saved because of their offering. What a glorious day that will be.
