PSALM 68
2. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish before the presence of God.
8. The earth trembled, the heavens also poured down (rain) at the presence of God; yonder Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
35. O God, awe inspiring, profoundly impressive and terrible are You out of Your holy places; the God of Israel, He gives strength and fullness of might to His people, blessed be God! Amp. C.
Psalm 68 is a Psalm of David. Here he speaks of the presence of God. How does it affect mankind? When the presence of God comes down upon the earth it shakes and quakes and causes His enemies to flee. That is His plan and how it will be when He returns.
Isaiah 13:13 Therefore, I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth shall be shaken out of its place at the wrath of the Lord of hosts in the day of His fierce anger.
Isaiah 24:18 … For the windows of the heavens are opened as in the deluge, and the foundations of the earth tremble and shake.
Luke 21:26 Men swooning away or expiring with fear and dread and apprehension and expectation of the things that are coming on the world; for the very powers of the heavens will be shaken and caused to totter. Amp. C.
When the Lord’s returns His presence is upon the earth as never before. He causes a great shaking of all that is not Him. If your foundation is built upon Jesus and is secure in Him then you have already been shaken by the trials He has sent to you to remove the dross so you can stand in His presence.
If you have avoided His presence and the trials, He has sent then you still have the dross and will like Adam and Eve run away from God because of your sin. It is so very important to allow Him to cleanse and change us so we can stand before Him.
When He removes the dross, He also removes the lusts of the flesh and this world. All that is left is the desire for Him. When He returns you will look up with joy at the signs that are coming upon the earth because you know soon you will look into those everlasting eyes that will fulfill your every desire.
Now is the time to prepare for that day because the clock is ticking.
