The scriptures in Colossians 1 are telling us we are told the mystery of God. And what is this mystery? It is Christ in us, the hope of glory. When He dwells inside of us, we are changed. We have power inside to relieve all the attacks of the enemy and the effects of the fleshly nature. We have the ability to overcome. The Father expects us to use it.

When we receive this power, it is still a mystery to us. We must learn to use this power the right way. When we learn then He expects us to teach our brothers and sisters what we have learned. We are to gently admonish and teach with love and patience. This too, we must learn. We were not born with His gentleness.

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome – fighting and contending. Instead, he must be kindly to every one and mild-tempered – preserving the bond of peace; he must be a skilled and suitable teacher, patient and forbearing and willing to suffer wrong.

25. He must correct his opponents with courtesy and gentleness, in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and come to know the Truth- that is, that they will perceive and recognize and become accurately acquainted with and acknowledge it. Amp. C.

We must always keep in mind that the Lord is listening to every word. He is waiting to hear us sound like Him. We were all taught in school and at home to be anything but gentle and patient. He is using our teaching others to teach ourselves. We do not want to waste time and words. We want them always to hear what we say and change. So, we must be pleasing to the Lord for that to happen.

Without the Truth no one will be saved. We are sanctified by Truth. A spirit of error and falsehood will not enter heaven. To be on His mountain we must think and speak the Truth. His wrath will fall on those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the Truth. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all Truth. These scriptures are found in John 17:17, Rev. 22:15, Psalm 15:2, Romans 2:8 and John 16:13, respectfully.

It is only by the Truth that we are set free. Lord Jesus, help us to spread Your Truth with love, patience and gentleness.
