PSALM 24
- The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it.
- for He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the currents and the rivers.
- Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?
- He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood, or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully.
- He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Another Psalm of David. He is telling us great truths. God created the earth and everything within. He gave it to His Son. It all belongs to Him. Man, and all of his pride does not matter. He made a way for us to be saved. If we do not respond, He will decide what happens to us because we belong to Him.
The world does not see this. They think they can call the shots. How do the rich think? Do they think all they have belongs to them? Yes, they do. Will they be surprised when they die?
The fullness of the world belongs to the Lord. One day He will take it all and give it to His own. But only after He has cleansed it and made it brand new. Who will He give it to?
Verse 4 tells us who He will give it to. They will have clean hands and a pure heart. They will only believe the truth and no lies. He must do the work in our heart because no one has clean hands or a pure heart, only Him. We cannot even come and see Him unless we are changed by Him.
We must see how unclean we are and then ask Him to change us.
