EZEKIEL 34
28. And they shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the earth devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid in the day of the Messiah’s reign. Amp. C.
The Lord is talking here about the last days. He can find no shepherds and the sheep have no one to guard and protect them. He comes and gathers them and protects them. The Hebrew word for dwell here means marry.
We know the Lord is coming as a Bridegroom. He will be the sheep’s Husband. He will care for them as no other. He will cause showers to come down for them. They will sleep confidently in the wilderness. None shall make them afraid.
He talks about His hill. We know that there will be a mountain of the Lord. Here He calls it a hill. The main thing He is talking about is the sheep not being fed. So why are they not being fed?
Just look at the shepherds of today. There are so many that have their own agenda. They must die to this world and become only one grain of wheat that dies. Then the Lord will be lifted up.
His sheep know His voice and they follow Him. They worship Him in Spirit and Truth. They love the Truth and speak and think it in their hearts. They are constantly misunderstood and rejected by this world.
He will come back and change all this and make it right. It will be a time of peace. He will guard and protect them the way He wanted them to be. He will remove the beasts out of the land and make it safe. Can we comprehend how great that will be?
