PSALM 46

  1. God is our refuge and strength (mighty and impenetrable to temptation) a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
  2. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change, and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas;
  3. Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah (pause and think calmly of that).
  4. There is a river, whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
  5. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved. God will help her right early (at the dawn of the morning). Amp. C.

This psalm is a song. How many times have we sung it? It is based on one very important fact. God must be our refuge and strength. Where do we go for help? He should be the first place we go. Why waste time. First of all, He will not let you find the help you need. You may think you have an answer, but it will eventually blow up in your face.

He is the only help we need. He will always be there and give us everything we need. He is a very present help in trouble. He is present in the midst of our trouble. He can’t get any closer. All we have to do is ask and believe. He will take care of it all.

So, if He is that very good to us, we should not fear. When this earth starts to dissolve and the mountains quake will we be still and know that He is God? Where does the river flow?

The river is the presence of God that comes from Him into the hearts of His people. How does the river flow? Where is the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High? Praise and Worship is the channel He uses. He can flow at any time in anyone He chooses. But He loves to flow through anointed praise and worship songs.

The songs must be praise and worship and not just inspirational. There is a big difference. Inspirational songs lead sinners to Jesus. Praise and Worship songs lead Christians into His presence.

Most of the songs I hear at Church and on other blogs are not anointed for Praise and Worship. Most of the words are about man and do not greatly praise the Lord like we are supposed to do.

He wants to hear how we feel about Him instead of how rotten we are. When we come to Praise and Worship, we should have already repented so that we are clean enough to enter into His presence. But if you listen to the words to most of the songs they sound like a cry for help. We are to cry at home and let Him fix us before we sing.

We want to be in that river because God is in the midst of it and will keep us from moving backwards. That will make us strong, and we will not fear when the end comes because we have seen what He has done for us.
