PSALM 100

  1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
  2. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
  3. Know ye that the Lord, He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
  4. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.
  5. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations

This is a Psalm of Praise.

The Lord wants us to come to Him. His Word is here to teach us His ways. He is telling us in Psalm 100 how to come to Him. Do we really think about how we come to Him? If we are to make a joyful noise to Him, then we are to be happy and glad. Joy is feelings of happiness and gladness.

We are to serve Him with gladness. Are we happy every time we come to pray? Is prayer a joy or a chore? Is it a happy thing for you to come to Him? We are to come with joy and serve with joy.

Why is He telling us to come before His presence with singing? He wants to see our smile. How many times do we come with a smile? If we come with singing, what kind of song are we singing? Is it a happy song?

We all know Psalm 100, but do we make a point to practice what it says? He is showing us the way He wants us to live. He wants us to live with Joy. He wants us to live with singing to be a part of our life.

We are to acknowledge that He has made us and has made it His job to protect, guard, feed and care for us. That is truly a reason to be thankful. He could have left us on our own and not been there for us. What a great thing it is that He loves us so.

We have so very much to be thankful for! He is so good!
