PSALM 34

  1. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continuously be in my mouth.
  2. My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

Psalm 34 is wonderful. It has so many promises that we need. It begins showing us the way we are to acquire these promises and blessings. We are to bless the Lord at all times. This means not just when it is convenient or easy. We are to bless the Lord always. This is something to be learned.

We know how to complain. We know how to gossip. We know how to give the silent treatment. But do we know how to bless the Lord at all times?

Revelation 14:3 And they sing a new song before the throne of God and before the elders of the heavenly Sanhedrin. No one could learn to sing that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been ransomed from the earth.

We are to learn how to sing when we are in the midst of a trial when we would rather sit down and cry. We should learn to keep our eyes on Him and His power. That give us strength. There is power in our life when we sing to the Lord because He inhabits His praises. That is why the enemy tries to discourage you.

The more we sing, the more we can sing. The power starts to manifest itself. We are placed before the throne of God. Our life is blessed with His benefits. When we talk about our life it shows His power. When we speak of our life it flows with the blessings that come from His throne room.

We must learn how to sing the new song that He gives us. We don’t have to sing it. We can go through our day in silent misery if we like. It is our choice just like in school. We don’t have to learn our lessons if we don’t want to. We can find something else to do. Satan will always make a way for us to turn aside from what is really important.

If we do not learn this new song, our life will not make its boast in the Lord. It will be filled with earthly things that have nothing to do with the Lord. That will cause emptiness and dryness in our soul. There is no joy in dryness. We will go through sad times in misery when we could fly through the heavenly realm! It is our choice!
