PSALM 32
- Blessed – happy, fortunate (to be envied) – is he who has forgiveness of his transgression continually exercised upon him, whose sin is covered.
- Blessed – happy, fortunate (to be envied) – is the man to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity and in whose spirit, there is no deceit.
DEFINITIONS
Impute -d) to attribute (something, especially a crime or fault) to another; charge with; ascribe.
Here we have another Psalm of David; this one is a song. I believe that in times of repentance, singing may be the best way to communicate to the Lord.
The Lord is saying in Psalm 32 that there are times and those whom He charges with sin and that creates a separation between them. The Lord always looks at the intention of the heart. He sees what we do not see.
The problem with us is that we have a sin nature and to us sometimes sin is not that bad. We must go to the Lord continually and ask if there is anything in us that is offensive to Him that we can’t see. We must ask Him to open our eyes to our hearts so we can repent.
Psalm 32 is saying blessed is the man whom the Lord imputes no iniquity. What does that mean? It means that we can live close enough to the Lord that we reject all sin because it causes a separation between us and Him. That separation is painful and truly miserable and will always lead us to repentance. These are the blessed ones to whom He is referring. They do not live with sin in control but the Holy Spirit in control.
We must have a clean heart to fellowship with the Lord. There are too many who feel this separation and instead of repenting of their sins, they go their own way hanging on to their sinful ways and live without the Lord. Then they wonder why they are so dry, and things are not working out in their life.
We must know that God’s ways are not our ways. We are learning His ways. We must change our ways if we want to fellowship with Him. If we live this way we will have Him for our hiding place, counseling us and instantly forgiving us (verses 5- 8).
11. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, you (uncompromisingly) righteous – you who are upright and in right standing with Him; shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Amp. C.
It is possible to live a life of unbroken fellowship with the Lord, a truly blessed existence. It is truly a reason to shout for joy!

“We must know that God’s ways are not our ways.”
I often have to stop and remind myself of this. Thank you, Wenda.
