PSALM 34

6. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

There are so many blessings and promises in Psalm 34. It is a vast treasure chest of goodness for the righteous, not so much for the wicked. If you are broken hearted and crushed with sorrow because of your sin, then there is hope for you.

Verse 5 says if you look to the Lord, you will never be ashamed or confused. But we know that we do at times get confused and are ashamed when we mess up. The answer is in the first verse to all of the blessings.

1. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2. My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

We must be always in a state of worship and thanksgiving. That means that our words are always pleasing to Him. Do we complain while we suffer in our trouble or do we always bless the Lord with our words and actions?

Does our life make a statement that is loudly proclaiming the Lord’s affect in our life? We do not have to speak. The Lord will shine through us without any help on our part. That would be our life making its boast in the Lord.

Are we always causing others to magnify the Lord with us as we praise and worship His name together? Do we lead them to worship the Lord, (verse 3)?

Do we seek the Lord with all that we are because we require Him so desperately because we need Him? If you missed your praying time, how would it affect you? Does your face shine because of Him (verses 4-5)?

Do we fear offending Him then we will have all things that we need and never be without (vs 9)?

If we live this way, then the Lord will live around us and deliver us. We will not lack any beneficial thing. We will teach others to fear the Lord because we do. He will hear us when we cry. He will deliver us out of every trouble. He will deliver us from all evil.

The last is the best of all. He will pay for our sins, and we will never be held guilty (verse 22).
