ROMANS 4

20. No unbelief or distrust made him waver or doubtingly question concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God,

21. Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His Word and to do what He had promised. Amp. C.

Abraham was not just the Father of Israel but the father of tests. He was the first one the Lord refined and taught the ways of righteousness. He gave David something to follow. Abraham was taught a refined faith in God that many never come close to.

He had to learn how to keep his eyes on the promise he had been given. We also have promises from the Lord in the Bible. They are only resting until the Lord comes down and we believe.

He had to keep his eyes on the Lord and His plans. The scripture says he never wavered but grew strong as he grave praise to God. I can honestly say I have never met anyone who did not ever doubt or waver. It should not be. But Abraham lived in an easier time. We have a lot more to deal with than he had.

I believe the key to it all is in getting to know the Lord. If we never draw near to Him, we will never know Him. He will reveal Himself in such wonderful ways that we will know He is more than worthy of our trust.
