PSALM 138
- I will confess and praise You O God, with my whole heart; before the gods will I sing praises to You.
- I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your Word, and You have magnified Your Word above all Your name!
- In the day when I called, You answered me, and strengthened me with strength (might and inflexibility) to temptation in my inner self. Amp. C.
Another Psalm of David when he is battling the enemy. He is not in a worship service in a church. He says he will worship toward His holy temple. He is in trouble and is confessing the Lord and singing His praises not before people but before the gods meaning the invisible. I wonder what songs he sang. I am sure they were pleasing to the Lord.
He is calling on the Lord to keep him focused and strong. He is positive. His praying and talking to the Lord. It says he was confessing. He is voicing his thankfulness. He is not asking to be revived or perfected. He is stating the fact that the Lord will do it.
I have sung the praises of the Lord. I have expressed what I have to be thankful for, but I have not confessed the answers I need. I know there is power in our words. When we are negative it has a bad influence in our life. We should confess the good things we need in our life. I do not mean the fleshly things like a cruise or a summer cottage on a lake. But the important spiritual things that we need.
Then I believe we will see more victories and perfection when we speak and confess them.
