HEBREWS 3

11. Accordingly, I swore in My wrath and indignation, They shall not enter into My rest.

12. Therefore beware, brethren; take care lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart which refuses to cleave to, trust in and rely on Him — leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God. Amp. C.

The Lord is not happy with His people in Hebrews 3. He connects rest with faith. When we know that He is our protector and supplier we have nothing to fear. No unbelief should keep us out of His presence.

To be at rest means to have no worry or anxiety in our heart. We all still have troubles or trials plaguing our thoughts. Instead, we are to give Him our burdens and lay them down. If we are still worrying, then we have not given them to Him. We must learn how to let our problems go and be at rest in our heart.

The best way to know if you are at rest is if the Holy Spirit tells you. It is very hard to know. There have been many times when I thought all was fine and the Lord kept telling me to rest. I would never have thought I had any problems. But after He showed me, I could see it and I knew He was right. Then I could not deliver myself. I talked it over with Him and He took it all away. Only then could I take a big sigh of relief and felt my soul at rest.

It is all about faith in Jesus and His power in us. We must know His voice. We must have a consistent prayer and communion life. He wants us to have a relationship with Him that we learn how to lean on Him for all our needs. That is what faith is. We trust in Adhere to and rely on Him.

What I hear is many have their prayer and reading time and then go their own way. We must have our own personal time of communing with Him about our personal struggles. That is where we find rest because we get to know how concerned He is for us. He is always there waiting to hear our cries. His love is new every morning. And is so wonderful. There is no one like Him. He wants us to experience Him. He wants to be our everything.

If not, He calls it wicked unbelief. And if we stay in unbelief, we will not enter His rest like the Israelites. The fearful and unbelieving have their place in the lake of fire with the murderers. That is how He sees it. Revelation 21:8
