PSALM 5
- Listen to my words, O Lord; give heed to my sighing and groaning.
- Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray.
- In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; In the morning I prepare a prayer, a sacrifice for You, and watch and wait for You to speak to my heart. Amp. C.
This is a Psalm of David. He knows the way to commune with the Lord. Here he is upset over something. But he knows the Lord hears and answers him every morning. He brings all things to Him and leaves them there. He waits for the Lord to speak to His heart. David expects the Lord to speak. He knows he will not be disappointed in his expectations.
He will not only speak , but He will remove the sighing and groaning. He will make him brand new. He will leave with his tears wiped away because he has heard from the Most High and there is nothing better. What was wrong is now right.
David has had an audience with the King and what the King says is law! Now all David wants is to enter into the Lord’s house. He knows he has an invitation and will be in the realm of the abundance of His mercy and love. It makes David worship the Lord because He is so great and wonderful.
David now wants to sing and shout for joy because the Lord has healed his sighing and groaning. And He will silence the enemy. That is exactly what He does for us when we come to Him the right way. We must come expecting to hear His voice. The Lord is always wanting to speak to us. We must give Him the opportunity by waiting for Him to speak to our heart.
Then we will shout for joy because He has made a covering over us and lifted our spirits, verses 11 and 12. The Lord loves us and is always looking for ways to bless us. But sometimes we get stuck in the sighing and groaning mode and miss the blessings.
