PSALM 119
140. Your Word is very pure – tried and well-refined; therefore, Your servant loves it.
163. I hate and abhor falsehood, but Your law do I love.
165. Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. Amp. C.
On the last Post I spoke about fixing out minds on what is pure. Here we have more scriptures on the subject. We know the Lord is the Most Pure. We know He is the Most High, well He is also the Most Pure. We are always to keep our eyes on Him. But also, on His Word.
If we took our eyes off of all media and kept them on His Word which is pure, we would be full of wisdom and faith. We would win more battles against the flesh and become more than a conqueror. There is power in His Word that we need.
The more we read and digest His Word the more peace we have, and nothing shall offend us. That would be a special gift to not be offended. We also must get our eyes off circumstances and problems that face us. They always breed fear and worry.
The Lord wants us to be at rest. When we focus on what is pure, we can be at rest. We must learn to do this. It does not come naturally to us. So, we have to learn it and it takes time. If we don’t start to discipline our minds we will not be at rest. He dwells in us when we obey His Word and commands, John 14:23.
The only way to be safe in the last days is to be filled with His presence which means having Him make His abode in our heart. Then He will be continually set before us, and we will not be moved. Then what will be our reward?
Song of Solomon 8:14 Joyfully the radiant bride turned to Him, the One altogether lovely, the Chief among ten thousand to her soul, and with unconcealed eagerness to begin her life of sweet companionship with Him, she answered, “Make haste, my Beloved, and come quickly, like a gazelle or a young hart and take me to our waiting home upon the mountain of spices.” Amp. C.
We are to fix our minds on what is lovely, Phil. 4:8. What is more lovely than Him? He is Altogether Lovely! Perfectly Beautiful! Why would we look elsewhere?
