PHILIPPIANS 4

8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are, of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. KJV

DEFINITIONS

Virtue -c) manliness (valor); excellence.

Virtue -d) general moral excellence; goodness of character.

Valor -d) courage; fearlessness.

When we read these words, do we comprehend their meaning? We were all born with a sin nature. We are not usually thinking pure thoughts. We are not usually fixing our mind on good and pure things.

This world is so very opposite of this scripture. With all that goes out into the airwaves, the vast majority would be far from pure. It seems that the awards shows seem to give awards to whomever can be the creepiest or most vile. Then the vast majority of the population thinks on those things.

What type of world do we live in?

The answer would have to be the opposite of virtue.

How sad is that?

What changes do we have to make to obey the Word of God and actually fix our minds on the good, pure and lovely things? When is the last time you watched a movie or TV show that was pure, if one even exists beyond “The Ten Commandments?”

We live a wonderful, blessed life if we obey the Word of God! If we don’t then we don’t!

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. KJV
