JOSHUA 6
2. And the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho, its king and mighty men of valor into your hand.”
The Lord has caused the Israelites to wait 40 years to enter the Promised Land. All those who murmured and did not believe have died. Those left with Joshua as their leader now are crossing the Jordan to enter Jericho after the walls fall down.
We know the story of the priests bearing the ark and blowing the trumpets. We know it all has special symbolic meaning. I believe it lines up with the last days and 1 Thess. 4:16-17. Just look at the similarities:
| JOSHUA 6 | 1 THESS. 4:26-17 |
| THE RAM’S HORN SHOUT WALLS OF JERICHO FALL PEOPLE ASCEND UP | TRUMP OF GOD SHOUT WALLS OF BABYLON FALL PEOPLE CAUGHT UP |
This is a symbol of the victory of entering the Promised Land after 40 years of battling the flesh, the world and the devil. There will be those who hear the trumpet call and those who will not. The Lord has given us the land, but we also must carry the arc of God which is a symbol of His presence. We must blow a trumpet in Zion.
The year of jubilee was always announced with the blowing of the trumpet. It was the time of being set free from all debts. It was a time of restoration of what had been lost. Jesus is our jubilee and restorer of all that was lost. He is coming back with a spiritual shout that will cause the walls of Babylon to fall.
The power that Babylon has will be broken. Some will be set free, but some will be lost. The true remnant of God will come up into the heavenly realm spiritually and meet Him in the air in heavenly worship and will forever be with their Lord.
Many will miss the call to come up because they do not have ears to hear but dwell with the Lord but dwell in Babylon. They will incur the wrath of God. It will be a time of destruction like in Jericho. But there will be those who have protected the Lord’s messengers, and they will be safe as Rahab and all that belonged to her was safe.
Jubilee is the 5th feast announced by the blowing of silver trumpet. It is a symbol of the rapture of the church. A time of being set free and restored. Are we blowing the spiritual trumpet announcing the coming of our King?
