PSALM 28
7. The Lord is my strength and my impenetrable shield; my heart trusts, relies on and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. Amp. C.
DEFINITIONS
Trust -d) firm belief in the honesty, reliability, etc. of some person or thing; faith, confident expectation.
Rely -d) to trust; depend; have confidence.
Leans -d) to bend or deviate from an upright position; to rely, depend on for advice.
David is praying here for help from God against his enemies. He is relying on God only. He knows that there is safety under His wings. He gets His strength from the Lord. He sees a shield about him that is his protection. The amplified calls it impenetrable. Nothing can affect or hurt him. So, he knows he is safely protected in the Lord’s loving care!
David is processing all that the Lord has done for Him. So, his heart can depend on the Lord. He has always been there without fail. That is what He is looking for from each one of us. We can look at our problems and always find another way to go for help.
The Lord created this for you. He wants us to depend upon Him for all out needs. Where do we go for help? Let’s think about it?
