“ARE YOU WALKING IN HIS POWER?” BIBLE STUDY NOVEMBER 1, 2024

ROMANS 12:2

2. Do not be conformed to this world – this age, fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs. But be transformed (changed) by the entire renewal of your mind – by its new ideals and its new attitude – so that you may prove (for yourselves) what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect in His sight for you. Amp. C.

We have all read this verse many times. What is a renewed mind?

We have to come to the place that we know there is something wrong with our thinking and attitude or we will not allow change. Our thinking is usually negative and based on our past experiences. But now we have become a new creation. All that has passed away. So why dwell on the way things used to turn out.

We must change our thinking to agree with the Lord’s thinking. We are to believe His Word and promises to us more than our circumstances or our condition. We are to believe He will cause all these things to work for our good. We are to believe that by His stripes we have been healed (past tense). Our attitude should reflect these changes.

We are to believe that He is our refuge, and we can hide ourselves in Him. We are to believe that He will supply our every need according to His riches. We are to believe that He is able to make all grace abound to us not just monetarily but in every circumstance of our life, whatever our need is which includes health, wealth, and strength.

2 Corinthians 9:10 says we will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that we can be generous to others.

We have no excuse for doubting His care.

Then what might be the reason why we are not walking in this power? It may be unbelief. We believe Satan’s word to us more than the Lord’s. We may still be attached to this world. We must give the Holy Spirit control of our life or we cannot claim the blessings. He requires obedience.

We must resist the flesh, the world and the devil. That is our job. It doesn’t come without a struggle and battle. We must do the resisting before the devil flees. The Lord will give us the strength to fight. But we have to pick up our weapons and fight.

We must have the Truth in our heart. Truth is part of the armor of God. It is the belt. The belt holds everything together. He requires truth in the inward parts. We are sanctified and cleansed by Truth. He is Truth and so will we be also. Are you believing something false? As Him?

If any of these things are keeping you back, then just bring them to Him and pour out your heart to Him. How bad do you want the victory? Then you must cry to Him over and over until you are heard. Never give up. He will hear your cry. But know you cannot have one foot in the world enjoying all the fleshpots of Egypt and expect Him to take you seriously.

To share in His glory, we must share in His suffering. We must pick up our cross and follow Him. We must choose the path of His bloody footprints. There is a price for us to pay and that would be Romans 12:1.
