PSALM 116

7. Return to your rest, O, my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

DEFINITIONS

Bountifully -(c to treat a person well, recompense, requite, ripen.

The Lord always wants our soul to be at rest. That means no anxiety, fear or worry. He wants us walking in faith knowing that He has control of our life therefore we are safe. If He is watching over us, then there is nothing to fear. Then why do we fear?

There can be many reasons, but the main culprit is ugly unbelief. I say ugly because that is the way the Lord sees it. We can think all is well and still walk in unbelief. We must always be in touch with the Lord. He alone knows our heart and will help us through.

He is always telling me to focus on the good ending in any trial or problem in my life. I can easily get my eyes on the circumstances, my weaknesses or believe the lies of the enemy without my ever knowing it.

He will not allow me to walk in unbelief because that is an insult to Him. If the Almighty God of the universe is in control of my life and protecting me making all things work for my good, then why would I not believe? I do not know the answer to that question completely, but I am learning.

When we are growing or beginning a new phase in our walk, we must have faith in new areas. He may call us to do something we have never done before and never thought we would so we must grow. The Lord knows this and has mercy and great patience with us. He will not stand by and let us get away with unbelief. He will close things up.

So, if things are closed up in your life and you don’t know why, it may be due to unbelief. We must walk in faith to receive from Him what we need. So, we must seek Him for the answers to go on. If we ignore it, there will be attacks from the devil and our connection to the Lord can be cut off.

It is a very serious thing. We must pray and ask Him to continuously show us why things happen to get down to the truth. If we test the spirits and not take no for an answer, we will make it through. We cannot ignore certain things. This is where watching comes in. We must keep our eyes open and be alert.

  1. ā€œHe is always telling me to focus on the good ending in any trial or problem in my life.ā€ That’s really good, Wenda. If we can get caught up with tunnel vision, when things are not looking so great, then your therapeutic solution is to visualize the good outcome that God has in store for us. I needed this one…Thanks, SisšŸ’•
